I believe this is my first Tumblr post in Europe!

It’s simply beautiful here in Heidelberg. No wonder the city is called the “city of romance.”

I was taking notes in class today, when I started to hear church music playing (probably from Peterskirche).  It was the organ and some string instruments, and I was just struck again by the realization that I am in Europe.  I felt like I was living in the classical times or something, and it gave me chills.  Learning German while hearing traditional organ church music in the background and then looking out to see all these brightly colored and beautiful buildings..

After class, I walked down the Haupstrasse (main street) down to the Uniplatz (University square) and just sat on a bench to write in my journal. Only a couple meters away was exactly the spot where Martin Luther stood and preached long ago, and again, I was struck.  I felt like I was looking back on history as I could visualize him in my head, and it was so surreal.

How He has awakened me in the past several days!  To see His people, land, and creations as He has created them.

Romans 4:18-24

18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be,”

19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead - since he was about a hundred years old - and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.

20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,

21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.

22 This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”

23 The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone,

24 but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness - for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.

How refreshing and awakening is His Word! How it brings peace & hope, encouragement to live in His promise, conviction of His love, His grace, His righteousness, His Being

ASAP

Tumblr’s more for jotting down quick thoughts, huh?

L  o l . Oops~!

But I’m glad because it’s led me to write in my journal more.

Too much thinking these days, but I guess that’s good. Spent some time catching up with an old friend. It’s really interesting how you just “click” with some people after not having spoken a word to them for months/years.  The suggestion that I am an extrovert has been ringing true the past several months. Hmm. Whoohoo, self-discovery. I love just blabbing about everything with one or two people for hours. Helps me clarify my thoughts, and verbalizing them automatically makes me reevaluate them so that I can reform my perspective. Why does writing down/verbalizing thoughts make it seem like they’re “actualized”?

OH, I read “Le Petit Prince” yesterday, and I was thinking about how ironic it was that I understand it so much more now than I did when I was younger. I always thought it was some strange tale and I could never get past the few pages. But I finished it yesterday, and oh my, my stickie notes are EBERYWHERE!

“Men have forgotten this truth,” said the fox. “But you must not forget it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed. You are responsible for your rose …”

Love Alone

The song that’s been stuck in my head these days = summer song : D

I passed the driving test today. YES! And I started work this past Monday.. it’s been pretty tiring, but I’m glad I’m working! I have so much to learn, but I think I am getting the hang of it.. kind of.

I intended to write about my first-year university experience.. but I feel like there’s too much to say & Tumblr’s become too public.. (which is good, because I’ve started to journal a lot more)  BUT definitely learned a LOT about people, about myself, about life. H a h a h a  so broad, huh? I realized how little I knew though. But at the same time, I was thankful for what I did know. No matter what, I hope to always be learning and growing and expanding upon what I [seem to] understand.

Summer vacation is SO long! This year is basically split into three 4-month sections.

1st section: Jan-April = 1st year, 2nd semester

2nd: May-August = Summer break

3rd: Sept-Dec = Heidelberg, Germany! (2nd year, 1st sem)

WOW.

Okay, I went and did some other things, came back, and now my train of thought has so been disconnected.

Be back later : /

Whatta cool car.
